From the seller: “Welcome to our auction for a 1951 Douglas 80 Plus Project bike.
A rare and desirable version of the Bristol built 350cc twin. A ‘barn find’ bike in need of complete restoration.
Purchased dismantled from a deceased estate, I have sadly not had the time to get into the project properly although had intentions of building a patina look rideable machine with good mechanicals and preserving the original paint and decals with a coat of lacquer other commitments mean I just won’t get time. Has been sprayed over with duck oil to help preserve it as best as possible. I do have exhausts with it too not shown in the photos otherwise whats there is all I have.
Engine and gearbox are currently out of the bike, balanced in for photos. Both stamped /80 beside the numbers, correct type for the bike, frame number isn’t legible, bike comes with a V5c and old style buff logbook, original number painted on still.”
