From the seller: “UK bike declared new at first registration in June 1960.
A sought after model back in the day, the Super Meteor is one of Britains rarer parallel twins with a 40bhp 692cc 4 stroke twin engine. This bike is still registered on the DVLA database & comes with the original old style Continuation logbook & an old V5 as pictured. This V5 would produce a new type V5 logbook if sent to DVLA with the new keepers details although I would probably apply for a new logbook with a V62 form in order to keep the history together.
Only 3 previous owners from new which are all shown on the original logbook. The last owner purchased this bike on the 27th November 1974 & there’s a receipt present from the 3rd keeper for the sum of £25 as pictured. There’s also an old MOT present which expired in May 1975 & the tax disc on the bike expired in September 1974 so it looks like it’s been off the road since then. This is a genuine Barn Find project in poor condition as pictured & shown in the video.
The engine is seized so it’s most likely rusted up. 6389 miles showing on the clocks believed genuine as the last recorded mileage was 4143 on the last MOT present carried out in May 1974. Overall with prices constantly rising for these historic bikes this is a very worthwhile & interesting winter project. The value of this bike will more than double when completed especially with all the original documents present so very much priced to sell.
