From the seller: “For sale without reserve is this 1971 BSA A65L Lightning with matching numbers.
The bike was built in May 1971 making it the grey framed version. The bike was imported into the UK from the USA and now has a full V5C and a registration ending in ‘J’, which is correct for the year. This bike in now exempt from road tax and doesn’t require an MOT. I purchased the bike to undertake a ‘full nut and bolt’ restoration, however an unfortunate accident has left me with a disability that means I won’t be able to do it.
The bike is complete (but doesn’t run) and only requires 2 relatively minor parts* beyond those that you would normally replace e.g. tyres, wiring loom, etc. The 650cc engine isn’t seized and turns over freely when kicked. Several of the parts that were incorrect, missing or beyond repair have been replaced with new parts that are correct for the model and year.”
