According to the seller, there’s only one small bit of rot on the bottom of the frame and the rest is just surface rust, or ‘patina’ as it seems to be called these days!
The engine is seized.
The seller has supplied the engine number and frame number on the listing, so it would be worth doing a bit of research to see if it’s a UK-registered bike and whether the engine is original. Not the end of the world if the answer is ‘no’ to those questions, but it would certainly affect the bidding, we’d have thought.
For the right enthusiast, this Vespa could be a great project. Would you restore it to look like new, or keep it looking ‘ratty’?
