From the seller: “1983 Honda CB400N Superdream Deluxe. Unfinished project.
This is a genuine 1 owner from new, low mileage bike with just 14k on the clock.
Comes with all original paperwork from new.
Unfortunately, original owner is deceased and the bike had sat exposed to the elements for a number of years until I rescued it.
Good points are that it does run, although only on choke, (so the carbs will need a complete strip and refurb,) It has new inlet manifold rubbers, new Hydenau tyres – front and rear, new rear wheel bearings, new brake shoes, new chain, new silencers, new battery, new plugs and front brake master cylinder.
Fuel tank, although clean inside had rotted around the filler cap. I did a repair to the to of the tank, however, with fuel added, in time, the vapours have caused the tank to blister around the welds. I have a replacment deluxe tank which is included in the sale with the bike. Also when up to temp, it weeps oil from the base of the cylinder on the l/h side. This has been checked and seems to be the rubber seal on the front inner l/h head stud (easy fix, fit replacement stud with new seal – this one is slightly longer than the rest and is different to the 250N.
Front brake calipers are with the bike, so it is all complete, they just require an overhaul.”
