From the seller: “This may well be one of the oldest FZR’s in the UK. Frame #14. Genuine UK bike from1987. The older first generation bikes are always the more sought after and there can’t be many still around older than this one.
It’s an original bike, never been restored. The key even fits all three locks. All there except the exhaust end can.
This is a restoration project. It will need a full going over from front to rear as it’s been garaged for many years, carbs cleaning, electrics sorting, suspension & brakes doing etc. It will also need a big end bearing replacing as that is why it was laid up. I did start the bike on easy start when I got it and there was a definite knock from the big end. This is a common fault on these and is relatively easy to fix. If you don’t want to tackle it there are companies that will refurbish the engine for you.”
