From the seller: “UK bike declared new at first registration in the UK in May 1972. HPI clear with recent report present.
Comes with an original Suzuki key & a current V5 logbook as pictured. The VIN & engine numbers are present & match with the ones on the V5 logbook. There’s no MOT history with the paperwork or on the GOV.UK MOT database so it hasn’t been on the road for many years.
It was purchased by the previous elderly owner in 2007 with the intention of restoring it but the project never got underway. It’s been dry stored since then but now unable to ride due to advancing years he decided to sell all his bikes of which this is one.
The previous owner told me it was a good runner until he tried to replace the points but damaged the generator windings in the process whilst removing the flywheel. There’s no spark now so we checked the generator & the windings are indeed damaged in 3 places. This would need to be the first job to get it back up & running. As you can see it’s all complete & still in the original Strip orange colour scheme. The condition is exactly what you would expect of an unrestored 49 year old bike with surface rust, perished tyres & a tear in the seat that’s been taped up.
The engine turns over freely with compression as can be seen in the Youtube video. 7858 miles showing on the clocks which is most likely correct but can’t be verified. Overall with prices rocketing for all 1970’s two strokes this rare little bike is a very worthwhile & interesting winter project. Cheap delivery available nationwide. Please email for a quote. Collection welcome. Better than money in the bank so be quick at this price!”
