From the seller: “1973 BSA A65 Lightning Firebird Scrambler Classic Retro Custom Restoration Project Bike.
A genuine garage find bike been off the road since 1992 so in need of some recommissioning as you would expect, comes with V5 logbook with matching frame and engine numbers and appears to be an original UK bike, the mileage is showing as just 8635 miles which judging by its genuine unrestored condition I would think is probably correct. I have the keys for both Ignition and steering lock and the centre stand is also with the bike.
The bike is mostly standard with the exception of the hi level pipes and far nicer slimmer tank fitted, with a charged battery, an oil change and a bit of fresh fuel it starts easily and runs well with no nasty noises, smoke or rattles, the oil is returning to the tank and the clutch and gearbox work as they should. brakes and suspension work too. the electrics want some minor TLC, Indicators work but don’t flash and tail light currently isn’t working.
Obviously due to it’s time standing it will need a thorough going over before returning to the road. Tyres are perished and will need replacing, chrome on fork stanchions is worn and pitted but a new set of stanchions are included in the sale.”
